My first quilt ever was a "quilt as you go" baby blanket; the pattern is courthouse steps. I was expecting our third baby when my Mom was teaching a class at church on how to do this. I didn't do my sewing at class but at home. Ken and I chose this fabric because it was relatively neutral and we didn't know the gender of our baby. Unfortunately, our little boy, Jeremiah, was stillborn 2 weeks before his due date. We chose to include the blanket when he was buried. So these pictures aren't great because they only other pictures I have of it have his burial clothes on top.
